Riding Disciplines
Mike Bonham has been riding all of his life. He has show and training experience in each individual show discipline: Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation. Mike also spent time as a licensed course designer. He uses this experience often in his teaching and preparation of horses and riders.

Hunters
Success in the hunter ring is granted after hard work and patience paired with technique and style. Mike has the knowledge and experience to teach his riders what it takes to have the flowing, effortless ride judges in the hunter ring look for. He teaches riders patience and accuracy always with safety in mind. From training both green horses and riders, and from the novice hunter ring through amateur owners and derby's, Mike has had consistent success with his students in the hunter ring winning the National Amateur Owner Hunter Championship, Reserve Champion at Pony Finals and USHJA Zone Horse of the Year 2015. Each year Bonham Stables has qualified riders for year end championships such as Kentucky National, Capital Challenge, Washington International and more. |

,Jumpers
Having both competed in and trained numerous clients, Mike has what it takes to transform low level riders into successful show jumpers. From training a beginner level jumper to Grand Prix level, Mike has coached everywhere in-between. He understands the fine balance of leg to hand, as well as the connection needed to be able to communicate properly and in a timely fashion. Notably Mike trained his daughter, Kels Bonham, to show in the jumper discipline and won five Grands Prix throughout her junior career; her first being at age 13. He has also taken clients to numerous shows throughout the nation including HITS Ocala, WEF, Kentucky, Harrisburg and many year end national horse shows. |

Equitation
As a junior rider looking to advance and accomplish their goals, look no further, Bonham Stables will take you to the top. No matter the discipline, Mike is consistently focused on position and accuracy while riding. Bonham Stables trains more than just a rider, we train good horsemanship. Putting the utmost imortance on decision making and being self aware so you can be the best rider for any horse. By teaching riders everything they need to know about exceptional and diligent care, paired with our coaching of advanced techniques and skills in the ring, gives Bonham Stables riders an edge above the competition. Mike's experience coaching those who pursue the equitation ring has resulted in many qualified riders to ASPCA Maclay Finals, Pessoa/US Hunter Seat Medal Finals, USEF Talent Search and most significantly a championship at the USEF Medal Finals. |
